Being artsy in Chicago with Mom.

So this past weekend I went to Chicago to visit the parents.
I went with my mom to her weekly nude-figure sculpture class on Sunday morning. I haven't done much fine-artsy stuff in ages so it was great.

Oh, how I love drawing/sculpting naked people.
(P.S. a couple more pictures - disposable style - from Chicago, to come.)

Docu-fashion

I went to see Valentino: The Last Emperor today with our good friend Ahmed Khedr. It was fantastic. It gave fascinating insight into the depths of the old school fashion industry. It is really amazing to go through the life of his 45 year fashion career. Fashion today is so different, exploited, and perhaps even mechanic; Valentino stayed true to his values of his love for gowns, beauty and pug puppies(!!). The movie was also a bit of a romance story between Valentino and Giammetti, his 25 year friend and 12 year partner .

So in New York it is playing at the Film Forum and in San Francisco it is playing at the Embarcadero Center Cinema. I would strongly sugguest going extra early because the shows are consantly sold out, and you really want to get good seats. Ahmed pushed me to go an hour early and it was well worth it, people were fighting for seats, it was funny.

So I was..

... locking my bike outside Walgreens today.
And this guy waiting near the bus stop goes, "You're pretty, you look like a dancer"
I half said thanks/half mumbled and sort of ignored him. A few seconds later he goes, "Wait, no, You look like a REAL dancer. Not a stripper or anything,
.... Shit."
and looked very dissapointed in himself and sort of walked off.

Ahahah, I was highly amused. Thought I'd share.
ALSO!!!! Someone checked out my new bike... Like slowed down their walk and eye-raped it a little, I was proud :)
(Pictures of my amazing new bike = coming soon.)

Look what I found! (I was lookin through pictures of old art stuff) I drew this for Sara back in early high school. You better still have this shit.
